Day 53 – A little more sleep, a little more slumber…

Well, it’s Monday again. It seems like it was Monday just a week ago…weird. Anyway, we did sleep in until about 8:30. It was very sunny today so it was a good day for Leah to do the clothes. It takes an hour to wash clothes and a week for them to dry; or 30 minutes if the sun stays out.
At about 9:30am Wes Jones sent us a message on Skype and we ended up talking to him for about an hour.  His Mac has a great camera and it was a great signal. He said all is well in China. We had a hilarious conversation about cultural differences and people’s reactions to seeing “extranjeros”. We also really enjoyed his review of the Lays potato chip offerings in China, such as (no joke) Cheesy Lobster flavored potato chips and, I think, Italian Chicken Potato chips. Mmmmmmmmmmm. I would like to try Cuy flavored Doritas.

I sat out and read for about 30 minutes, “protected” (allegedly) with SPF30. Yeah, right. I then took my burned little self back inside to read. I did get a ton of studying done. We also got a good workout in. And, of course, Monday is always a great day for cooking and eating lots of deliciousness.  We started with Quinoa cooked in Coconut pulp and Papaya. For lunch we made Potato Leek soup with Chorizo and smoked provolone cheese. The only sad part-no leftovers. For dinner we had tamales and Shawn made pan de maduros. Jehovah's hand is certainly not short in what he has provided for us humans. Imagine having forever to try the different varieties of foods and the different combinations. Forever will never get boring.

We did our Family study (reviewed the review from last week’s school again, read in the Yearbook) and then called Rubiel and Colette. Also, we watched some t.v. via our free one month subscription to Netflix. Hopefully we will have the self-control to cancel it.

Well, that’s an update on our life. We hope yours is going well. We love y’all.

BTW-some of you are saying you don’t know how to leave comments on the blog. We are very ashamed of your obvious lack of ingenuity. But, please email us if you’d like. We love hearing from you.

  2. YES I made the blog!

FYI, here's the brands of Lay's I've tried so far:
    - Cheese Lobster Flavor
    - Italian Red Meat Flavor
    - French Chicken Flavor
    - Fried Prawn Flavor

    Fried Prawn was surprisingly bland.
