Day 77 – Looking Like a Big Group for the Memorial

We did the Memorial invitations in Santa Rosa and Los Almendros this morning. I doubled checked on some of my studies as we worked the territory but struck out again. We were finished with all the territory by 10am, so Erik went to his study. She was there and they had a good first study with her in the Bible teach book. She’s very timid so it’s somewhat challenging drawing her out. Her brother, Wilmer, is a ministerial servant in our congregation who learned the truth while he was working in Spain. Her oldest daughter studies too. It seems her husband is somewhat opposed but that doesn’t seem to be stopping them.

We came home for lunch and while a nap seemed very desirable there was no time. Erik had to finish his part, I had a demo to do for it and we had to finish studying for the meeting. Plus, we had 2 studies to do before the meeting. Ryan and Shawn made tacos for lunch-yummy!

We got everything done and at 2:30 walked next door to Sabina for her study. It was really good-her little boy was sleepingJ. She asked us about the “Semana santa” (holy week) so we went over info in the appendix of the Bible teach book about that and the Memorial. We are really hoping she goes next week. She’s a little nervous about her kids but we assured her it would be fine.

Then we did Nancy’s study on the main road in the Quebrada. She was tired and the baby sick but we had a good study despite all that. Her mom, Erlinda, sat and listened as well. I got the baby to sleep-he’s a little chunker. We are really hoping they all go to the memorial as well.

We walked home and went to the meeting with Ryan and the girls. Everyone did well on their parts: Zully was a householder, Shawn had the #3 talk, Erik the part on hospitality (my demo was for his part & Veronica was my householder) and Ryan had the last part on the video. He “conveniently” ran out of time for the last 2 questions on the extras of the video.

After meeting, Erik walked to the neighbor a couple of houses from the KH to make a hair appt for tomorrow. We went home and the boys ate sandwiches and played ping pong. We played Sequence and tonight Erik went to bed early. I don’t think Veronica or I wanted to go to bed until we won again. But at least we can sleep in tomorrow – no service until the afternoon.

FYI: For those of you that have seen the pics of the horse-riding and are wondering about wearing shorts. Let me just update you that on top of rubbing your inner thighs raw you will also get a wicked sunburn if you forget to put on sunblock. He won’t let me take a pic but there is a line that goes from white to very, very red.
