Day 32 – Wawawa…Waterboy

I can’t believe I haven’t taken a picture of this yet! Erik is officially in charge of producing high quality H2O here. We all do appreciate his efforts. And we haven’t gotten sick yet (this sentence was added by yours truly, of course). I need to justify my extreme obsession for clean, crisp, delicious water.
Breakfast belonged to us this morning. So we made French toast with raisin bread and then homemade syrup with bananas y walnuts, along with some fresh papaya.

We went for a hike with Robin, Ryan & Veronica. Waited a little too long because it was super-hot – 85 degrees at least today with not many clouds, but at least a little breeze. I think we attached pictures once before from where we hiked today but one more can’t hurt.

When we returned home it was machete time. Nothing makes a man feel like an even bigger man than wielding a machete. It makes it look like you’re working when you’re really just playing. But we did get the yard mowed and trimmed and pruned some trees.

Then it was barbecue time. Shawn, Ryan and Jim made potatoes, kabobs, chicken, and maduros. Leah and I made macaroni salad. If you think we're pigs, you may have a point but we didn't eat lunch so stop judging.

Before dinner a couple of brothers stopped over. They live in Milagro (8 hours away, where Aaron and Keila live) and are spending a months or so visiting an isolated group about 2 hours from here. Apparently, there is a group of about 45 people that attend a weekly meeting and no elders are serving there. They said a brother from the Branch came this week to approve land for building a KH. Seems like there is quite a need there. We are thinking of going and spending a couple of days working with them. We will keep you informed.

We are very excited this evening because Heather and Leigh King sent us emails so Leah spent time getting back to them and now it’s 8:30 pm and we are about to start watching movies. As I prepare to relax my mind cannot stop thinking about some of the critical issues we will face in the coming days…will I have to filter more water? Why can’t everyone enjoy crisp, clean water like us? I’m only one man…there can only be one Waterboy.
